Landrum was recently named #100 on Florida Trend’s list of Top Private Florida Companies. I am proud to see our company recognized among businesses contributing to Florida’s economy. However, after spending most of my life around Landrum, I have learned that rankings and revenue only tell part of the story as they measure outcomes. What matters more to me is what those outcomes represent and how we achieved them.

For Landrum, growth has always been closely tied to the growth of the businesses we serve. When our clients expand, enter new markets, hire more people, or face more complex workforce challenges, we grow alongside them. Their trust in us has allowed Landrum to become the company it is today.

As the second generation of my family to lead Landrum, I think about that trust differently than I might if I were simply looking at the performance of a business from one year to the next. My father started this company more than 55 years ago, and I grew up watching relationships develop over decades. I saw clients stay with us through economic cycles, generations of leadership, and significant changes in the way people work. I also learned that a reputation built over many years can never be taken for granted.

Being privately held gives us the ability to take a long view. We have ambitious plans for Landrum, but we also have a responsibility to make decisions that leave the company stronger for the next generation. That means investing in our people, continuing to evolve how we serve our clients, and never allowing growth to outpace the trust that made it possible.

That trust carries real responsibility because the work we do affects businesses, employees, families, and ultimately communities. Every day, companies rely on us to process payroll, recruit employees, guide HR decisions, provide benefits, manage risks, and help create workplaces where people can succeed. When those businesses grow well, they create jobs, invest in their communities, and create opportunities for others.

What makes this recognition meaningful to me are the businesses that have trusted us to grow alongside them, the people at Landrum who have earned that trust, and more than five decades of work we have the responsibility to carry forward. Truly, the success of our clients and our employees is the story behind our growth.
