Founded by H. Britt Landrum, Jr. in 1970 with headquarters in Pensacola, Florida, Landrum is a second-generation, family-owned business that provides full-service human resources services. The company has earned numerous awards for its dedication to professional service, ethical practices, and community work, including The Florida Governor’s Sterling Award for organizational excellence, the highest honor a Florida-based business can receive.

Early days

In 1970, H. Britt Landrum, Jr. and his wife used their life savings to start Landrum Personnel Associates, an employment agency in Pensacola, FL. Within several years, the company had also established a professional employer organization (PEO) division.

Gathering steam

In the 1980s, Britt became involved in advocating for nationwide legislation to establish the CPEO designation, and by 1998, he was named Business Leader of the Year by the Pensacola Area Chamber of Commerce. The awards continued in the 2000s, as Landrum was recognized as one of the 25 top places to work, and Britt was given the 2005 Ethics in Business Award.

Glowing brighter

By 2010, Landrum was ranked number 59 on the Florida Trend Top 200 Private Companies list, its 10th consecutive year on the list. In 2015, Landrum enjoyed its 5th year of being named among the top 25 small and medium places to work in America by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). This is also the year that Britt Landrum, III was appointed as President of the company.

From there, Landrum acquired PEO organizations in several states, including Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina, to expand the company’s reach in the southeast.

By Landrum’s 50th anniversary in 2020, more than 1800 businesses in 44 U.S. states were using Landrum to manage their human resources needs.

In 2019, Landrum acquired hrQ, a nationwide HR recruiting organization with more than 25 years of experience placing top HR talent across the U.S. Three years later, Ceres Talent, a boutique marketing staffing agency in Washington, D.C., was added to the portfolio. These two powerhouse recruiting firms came together under the name Landrum Talent Solutions in 2024. The team uses its specialized expertise and passion for people to place top talent in HR and marketing roles nationwide.
