Pensacola, FL – June 30, 2020 – August marks Landrum’s 50th anniversary! The company was founded by H. Britt Landrum, Jr., in 1970 as a personnel placement company, and it quickly became the largest provider of staffing services in Northwest Florida. Several years later, he expanded into employee leasing and the Professional Employer Organization (PEO) space. The company has grown organically and through acquisition and is now a nationwide human capital service provider that serves more than 1,800 businesses in 49 states.
Landrum was instrumental in lobbying at the state and national level for regulations and protections that would make PEOs more accountable to clients and employees, while growing their valuable contributions to our country’s workforce and local communities.
“The impact my father has had on the Staffing and PEO industries and our communities over the last 50 years is immeasurable,” said Britt Landrum, III, current President & CEO. “The strong foundation he built has allowed us to grow, innovate, and evolve into the company we are today.”
“He set the highest standards of service and quality, and we work daily to uphold that legacy.”
Over the last ten years, Landrum has grown through several acquisitions, including:
- 2012 – North Carolina-based Employer Administrative Services, Inc. and South Carolina-based Synergetic, Inc.
- 2013 – Staff Payroll, a Pensacola-based PEO
- 2017 – The Employee Management Team (EMT), a Sarasota, Florida-based PEO
- 2019 – hrQ, Inc., a national professional services firm delivering human capital search and consulting solutions
Landrum’s pledge to corporate citizenship is reflected in its core values, Learn, Share, and Grow, which are demonstrated by its staff. The company has earned numerous awards for its dedication to professional service, ethical practices, and community work, including The Florida Governor’s Sterling Award for organizational excellence, the highest honor a Florida-based business can receive.
“Our mission is to support organizations in achieving their goals, whether through HR services, payroll, providing benefits, getting workers into the workforce, or helping them restructure for success,” said Landrum. “We’ve seen a lot of changes throughout our 50 years, but every challenge has presented an opportunity to grow, evolve, and help our clients do the same,” said Landrum. “
The company recently announced its move to a primarily remote workforce and will host a virtual employee celebration on August 3, followed by a client celebration later in the fall. On the same day, H. Britt Landrum Jr.’s book, Working a Better Way, about the company’s history and guiding principles, will also be available for sale.
